About The Park:

Ashburton Park is an off leash dog exercise area that is located off High Street in Ashburton.  This park is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions except during sports training and games on the weekend.  The park is located close to another dog friendly park - Ashwood Reserve and is accessible by public transport and by car.  This park is a great place for dogs as the off leash part is a large grassed area with some facilities available to dog owners.

How to get there:

Ashburton Park is located in Ashburton on Melways Map 60 F9 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car.  From Flinders Street Station catch the Lilydale Train from Platform 2.  Get off at Camberwell Station and catch the Alamein Train from Platform 3 to Ashburton.  From Ashburton Station the Park is a short 500 meter walk from the station down Fakenham Road.

Families travelling by car can park across from Ashburton Park on Fakenham Street.  Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the park - check signs for parking restrictions.

Extra Information / Off Leash Walk Sheet Download:

Ashburton Park is sometimes unavailable for off leash exercise during sporting events and training

When using an off leash dog park it is important that you still have voice control over your dog and in the event that you need to call him/her back that they listen and obey your commands.

When using off leash dog parks remember that not everyone has well trained and socialized dogs.  Consider talking to other dog owners in the park before allowing dogs to play together.

Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will be thirsty after all that running around.
