About The Gardens: Canterbury Gardens is an off leash dog exercise area that is located off Allambanan Drive in Bayswater North. The gardens is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions however there may be times on the weekends and during functions such as weddings that the gardens are unavailable for off leash use. Canterbury Gardens is a great place for dogs to exercise off leash as the area is quite large and there is a fantastic array of native and exotic flora to see while you follow the many walking trails throughout the gardens. How to get there: Canterbury Gardens is located in Bayswater North on Melways Map 65 B1 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders Street Station catch the Lilydale Train from platform 2 and get off at Ringwood Station. From Ringwood Station catch the 679 Bus towards Chirnside Park and get off at the corner of Canterbury Road and Blandford Crescent. Canterbury Gardens is a short 400 meter walk south on Blandford Crescent. Families travelling by car can park in the car parking area on Allambanan Drive. Parking is also available in the streets surrounding Canterbury Gardens - check signs for parking restrictions.
Facilities: Parking available in the car park on Allambanan Drive and in surrounding residential streets. Please check signage before leaving your car. Dog Poo Bins - located near the BBQs to the south of the gardens - there are no bags available please remember to take your own Walking Trails - located throughout the gardens BBQs - south of the gardens near the Tennis courts Children's Play Equipment - located near the BBQ and picnic areas Tennis Courts - local tennis club courts are located near the gardens car parking area Closest Bus Stop to Canterbury Gardens is on the corner of Canterbury Road and Blandford Crescent Extra Information / Off Leash Walk Sheet Download: Canterbury Gardens is a great place to spend a day or just an afternoon wandering the trails through the gardens while your dog gets the opportunity to run off leash and enjoy the sights and smells. When using an off leash dog park it is important that you still have voice control over your dog and in the event that you need to call him/her back that they listen and obey your commands. When using off leash dog parks remember that not everyone has well trained and socialized dogs. Consider talking to other dog owners in the park before allowing dogs to play together.
