About The Reserve: Chifley Drive Reserve is an off leash dog exercise area that is located off Chifley Drive in Maribyrnong. This reserve is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions. The reserve quite large with many trees for shade and is accessible by public transport and by car. This reserve is a great place for dogs as the area is fenced along almost all of the boundary and there is plenty of room for the dogs to run around. The reserve is located across the road from the Maribyrnong River and river side walking tracks - this area is designated on leash for dogs. How to get there: Chifley Drive Reserve is located in Maribyrnong on Melways Map 28 A6 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders Street Station catch the 57 Tram toward West Maribyrnong and get off at the corner of Warrs Road and Raleigh Road. To reach Chifley Drive Reserve walk 600 meters down Barb Street and The Esplanade. Families travelling by car can park in the reserve car park off Chifley Drive. Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the Reserve - check signs for parking restrictions. ![]() Facilities: Parking available in reserve car park off Chifley Drive and in surrounding residential streets. Please check signage before leaving your car. Dog poo bins are located across Chifley Drive near the car park - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own. Picnic Tables are located across Chifley Drive along the river Walking paths - located along the river Foot Bridge to access the other side of the river is located north of the Reserve near Afton Road Chifley Drive Reserve has many shaded areas which is great during the summer months Closest Tram stop to Chifley Drive Reserve is located on the corner of Warrs Road and Raleigh Road. Extra Information / Off Leash Walk Sheet Download: Chifley Drive Reserve is an off leash dog area but across the road on the river bank walking track it is designated on leash for dogs. Be sure to walk dogs on a lead in this area. When using an off leash dog park it is important that you still have voice control over your dog and in the event that you need to call him/her back that they listen and obey your commands. When using off leash dog parks remember that not everyone has well trained and socialized dogs. Consider talking to other dog owners in the park before allowing dogs to play together.
