About The Reserve:

Eltham Lower Park is an off leash dog exercise area that is located off Homestead Road in Eltham.  This reserve is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions except for sports training times.  The reserve is located north of the Yarra River and is accessable by public transport and by car.  This reserve is a great place for dogs as the area is quite large and there is plenty of room for the dogs to run around.  There is a flora reserve located on the western side of this park - please ensure that your dogs do not enter this part of the park while off leash

How to get there:

Eltham Lower Park is located in Eltham on Melways Map 21 H11 and is accessable by both public transport and by private car.  From Flinders Street Station catch the Hurstbridge Train from platform 1 to Eltham Railway Station.  Once at Eltham catch the 281 or the 513 Bus and get off at the Main Road / Eltham Lower Park Stop. Eltham Lower Park is located across the street from the bus stop.

Families travelling by car can park in the reserve car park off Power Avenue or Winbirra Parade.  Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the reserve - check signs for parking restrictions.

Facilities:

Parking available in reserve car park off Power Avenue and Winbirra Parade and in surrounding residential streets.  Please check signage before leaving your car.

Dog poo bins are located near the football ovals and the car park - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own.

Toilets are located near the car park adjacent to football oval 1

Diamond Valley Miniture Railway - located in the north east section of Eltham Lower Park

Closest Bus stop to Eltham Lower Park is located on Main Road.

Extra Information / Off Leash Walk Sheet Download:

Eltham Lower Park may be unavailable during sporting carnival weekends

When using an off leash dog park it is important that you still have voice control over your dog and in the event that you need to call him/her back that they listen and obey your commands.

When using off leash dog parks remember that not everyone has well trained and socialized dogs.  Consider talking to other dog owners in the park before allowing dogs to play together. 

Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will be thirsty after all that running around.
