Council Area: About The Reserve: Elwood Park is an on leash dog exercise area that is located off Head Street in Elwood. This reserve is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions. The reserve is has walking tracks and views of the Bay area and is accessible by public transport and by car. This reserve is a great place for dog walking as the area is quite large and Elwood Park is linked to several other parks via the walking tracks. How to get there: Elwood Park is located in Elwood on Melways Map 67 C5 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders Street Station catch the Sandringham Train from platform 8 to Gardenvale Railway Station. Once at Gardenvale Station catch the 630 Elwood Bus and get off at the St Kilda Street and Head Street Stop. Elwood Park is located across the street. Families travelling by car can park in the reserve car park off Head Street. Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the Elwood Park - check signs for parking restrictions. ![]() Facilities: Parking available in reserve car park off Head Street and in surrounding residential streets. Please check signage before leaving your car. Dog poo bins are located near the BBQ area and the car park - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own. Toilets are located to the north of Elwood Park opposite Bendigo Avenue Walking paths - located throughout the park and link Elwood Park the surrounding reserves and the beach Elwood Park has 1 football oval and tennis courts to the north BBQs are located just north of the car park area off Head Street Children's Play Equipment - located near the BBQ area Elwood Park has several beach front Kiosks and cafes located close by on the beach side of the park Closest Bus stop to Elwood Park is located on the corner of St Kilda Street and Head Street. Extra Information / On Leash Walk Sheet Download: Elwood Park is busy during the summer months and parking is very limited. Please ensure that dogs are kept away from BBQ areas and children's play equipment - this is a requirement in most council areas in Victoria. When using on leash dog parks remember that not everyone likes to interact with dogs. Please ensure that dogs are kept on a leash at all times in these parks and that you remember to pick up after your dog. Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will be thirsty after a long walk. |
