About The Reserve: Fairbairn Park is an off leash dog exercise area that is located off Woods Street in Ascot Vale West. This park is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions. The park is located across from the Maribyrnong River and is accessable by public transport and by car. This park is a great place for dogs as the area is quite large and there is plenty of room for the dogs to run around and a creek for swimming. How to get there: Fairbairn Park is located in Ascot Vale West on Melways Map 28 C9 and is accessable by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders Street Station catch the 57 Tram to West Maribyrnong and get off at stop 41 Maribyrnong Park. From stop 41 walk 70 meters down Wood Street to Fairbairn Park. Families travelling by car can park in the parking areas off Wood Street. Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the reserve - check signs for parking restrictions. ![]() Facilities: Parking available in car park off Woods Street and in surrounding residential streets. Please check signage before leaving your car. Walking and Cycling Tracks - located along the Maribyrnong River Dog poo bins are located near car parking off Woods Street - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own. Toilets - located at the north end of the park near the Sea Scouts Building and also located in the south end of the park near the Riverside Tennis Centre. Childrens Play Equipment - located next to the Riverside Tennis Centre off Newsom Street Sea Scouts and Riverside Tennis Centre are located at Fairbairn Park Closest Tram stop to Fairbairn Park is located on Maribyrnong Road Extra Information / Off Leash Walk Sheet Download: Please ensure that your dog does not enter the grounds of the Riverside Golf Course to the south of Fairbairn Park. When using an off leash dog park it is important that you still have voice control over your dog and in the event that you need to call him/her back that they listen and obey your commands. When using off leash dog parks remember that not everyone has well trained and socialized dogs. Consider talking to other dog owners in the park before allowing dogs to play together.
