Council Area: About The Park: Jells Park is an on leash dog exercise area that is located off Jells Road in Wheelers Hill. The Park is open all year round with no time restrictions or gate closers. The park has just over 9 kilometers of walking tracks which wind through bushland areas and around the wildlife lake located to the east of the Park. Jells park is a great place for dog walking as the area is quite large and the walking tracks are well marked. This area is very popular with runners, cyclists, walkers and dog walkers with thousands of visitors each year. How to get there: Jells Park is located in Wheelers Hill on Melways Map 71 K7 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders Street Station catch the Glen Waverley Train from Platform 3 and get off at Glen Waverley Station. Once at Glen Waverley catch the 754 Bus towards Rowville and get off at the corner of Heysham Drive and Jells Road. The entrance to Jells Park is just across from the Bus stop. Families travelling by car can park in the reserve car park off Waverley Road - check signs for parking restrictions. ![]() Facilities: Parking available in reserve car park off Waverley Road. Please check signage before leaving your car. Dog poo bins - the park has no designated dog poo bins - rubbish can be deposited in bins near toilets and the cafe - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own. Toilets are located near each of the picnic areas around the park Jells Park has 8 designated picnic areas with tables, chairs and 6 with shelters BBQs are available in the picnic areas - there are 4 solid fuel and 2 electric (free to use) There is water available in each of the picnic areas but it is recommended that you carry your own supply (for you and the dog) Children's Play Equipment - located in three areas around Jells Park Walking paths - located throughout the gardens - for use by cyclists as well as walkers Closest Bus stop to Jells Park is located on the corner of Heysham Drive and Jells Road Extra Information / On Leash Walk Sheet Download: Jells Park is a fantastic area that is dog friendly - please ensure that you have your dog on a leash and pick up after them so that everyone can enjoy this park and it stays on our dog friendly listing. Please ensure that dogs are kept away from BBQ areas and children's play equipment - this is a requirement in most council areas in Victoria. When using on leash dog parks remember that not everyone likes to interact with dogs. Please ensure that dogs are kept on a leash at all times in these parks and that you remember to pick up after your dog. Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will be thirsty after a long walk. |
