About The Reserve: Markham Avenue Reserve is an off leash dog exercise area that is located off Markham Avenue in Ashburton. This reserve is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions. The reserve is located close to another dog friendly park - Ashwood Reserve and is accessible by public transport and by car. This park is a great place for dogs as the off leash part is a large grassed area with some facilities available to dog owners. How to get there: Markham Avenue Reserve is located in Ashburton on Melways Map 60 E12 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders Street Station catch the Lilydale Train from Platform 2. Get off at Camberwell Station and catch the Alamein Train from Platform 3 to Alamein. From Alamein Station the reserve is a short 600 meter walk from the station down Victory Boulevard. Families travelling by car can park across from Markham Avenue Reserve on Markham Avenue. Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the reserve - check signs for parking restrictions. ![]() Facilities: Parking available across from the reserve on Markham Avenue and in surrounding residential streets. Please check signage before leaving your car. Dog poo bins are located to the west of Markham Avenue Reserve near the toilets - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own. When using off leash dog parks remember that not everyone has well trained and socialized dogs. Consider talking to other dog owners in the park before allowing dogs to play together.
