About The Park:

Pipemakers Park is an on leash dog exercise area that is located off Van Ness Avenue in Maribyrnong.  This park is for use all year round but is only open during the day from 8am to 5.30pm.  The park has many walking tracks and a few interesting stops including the living museum and indigenous historic sites.  This park is a great place for dog walking as the area is quite large and the walking tracks are well marked.

How to get there:

Pipemakers Park is located in Maribyrnong on Melways Map 28 B10 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car.  From Flinders Street Station catch the Watergardens Train from Platform 5 and get off at Footscray Station.  Once at Footscray catch the 82 Tram towards Moonee Ponds and get off at stop 54 on the corner of Gordon and River Streets. Pipemakers Park is located 600 meters walk from the bus stop down Van Ness Avenue - please note that the last section of this walk is quite steep.

Families travelling by car can park in the reserve car park off Van Ness Avenue - check signs for parking restrictions.

Parking available in reserve car park off Van Ness Avenue.  Please check signage before leaving your car.

Dog poo bins are located near the car park - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own.

Toilets are located near the car park and BBQ area

BBQs are located near the car park and toilet area 

Walking paths - located throughout the park with foot bridges to cross the Maribyrnong river

Pipemakers Park has a visitors centre as well as a living museum and indigenous history areas

Closest Tram stop to Pipemakers Park is located on the corner of Gordon and River Streets.

Pipemakers Park is a fantastic area that is dog friendly - please ensure that you have your dog on a leash and pick up after them so that everyone can enjoy this park and it stays on our dog friendly listing.

Please ensure that dogs are kept away from BBQ areas and children's play equipment - this is a requirement in most council areas in Victoria. 

When using on leash dog parks remember that not everyone likes to interact with dogs.  Please ensure that dogs are kept on a leash at all times in these parks and that you remember to pick up after your dog.

Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will be thirsty after a long walk.
