About The Reserve: Ruffey Lake Park is an off leash dog exercise area that is located off George Street in Doncaster. This reserve is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions. The reserve is has many walking tracks and a lake and is accessible by public transport and by car. This reserve is a great place for dogs as the area is quite large and there is plenty of room for the dogs to run around. There is a sporting area located across Victoria road in Rieschiecks Reserve that does not allow dogs- please ensure that your dogs do not enter this part of the park while off leash. How to get there: Ruffey Lake Park is located in Doncaster on Melways Map 33 G10 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders Street Station catch the Belgrave Train from platform 2 to Box Hill Railway Station. Once at Box Hill catch the 289 Donvale Bus and get off at the Earl / George Street Stop. Ruffey Lake Park is located 50 meters walk down George Street. Families travelling by car can park in the reserve car park off The Boulevarde. Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the Ruffey Lake Park - check signs for parking restrictions. ![]() Facilities: Parking available in reserve car park off The Boulevarde and in surrounding residential streets. Please check signage before leaving your car. Dog poo bins are located throughout the park - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own. Toilets are located in the southern end of the park near McCallum Road and also to the west of the park near Victoria Street BBQs are located in the four corners of the park - all BBQs in the park are electric Walking paths - located throughout the park There are two sporting ovals across Victoria Street in Rieschiecks Reserve - This area does not permit dogs. Children's Play Equipment - located on the east side of the park Closest Bus stop to Ruffey Lake Park is located on George Street Extra Information / Off Leash Walk Sheet Download: Ruffey Lake Park has several BBQ and picnic areas - be sure that your dog does not enter these areas while off leash When using an off leash dog park it is important that you still have voice control over your dog and in the event that you need to call him/her back that they listen and obey your commands. When using off leash dog parks remember that not everyone has well trained and socialized dogs. Consider talking to other dog owners in the park before allowing dogs to play together.
