About The Park:

Summerhill Park is an off leash dog exercise area that is located off Summerhill Road in Ashburton.  This park is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions.  The park extends from Summerhill Road to Yuile Street and is accessible by public transport and by car.  This park is a great place for dogs as the off leash part is a large grassed area with bike and walking trails running the length of the park.

How to get there:

Summerhill Park is located in Ashburton on Melways Map 60 C8 - D8 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car.  From Flinders Street Station catch the Lilydale Train from Platform 2.  Get off at Camberwell Station and catch the Alamein Train from Platform 3 to Ashburton.  From Ashburton Station Summerhill Park is a short 500 meter walk north on Yuile Street.

Families travelling by car can park across from Summerhill Park on Prosper Parade.  Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the park - check signs for parking restrictions.

Facilities:

Parking available across from the park on Prosper Parade and in surrounding residential streets.  Please check signage before leaving your car.

Extra Information / Off Leash Walk Sheet Download:

When using an off leash dog park it is important that you still have voice control over your dog and in the event that you need to call him/her back that they listen and obey your commands.

When using off leash dog parks remember that not everyone has well trained and socialized dogs.  Consider talking to other dog owners in the park before allowing dogs to play together. 

Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will be thirsty after all that running around.
