About The Beach:

Camerons Bight has a off leash dog beach area between the Monument to the First Settlers (at the end of Leggett Way) and Stringer Road.  This dog beach is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions.  The beach has fantastic views across Port Phillip Bay and also has a look out on Eastern Sister to really appreciate the views.  This beach is a relativley protected from the weather but is quite busy with boats and people during the summer months.

How to get there:

Camerons Bight is located on Melways Map 157 G11 and is accessable by both public transport and by private car.  From Flinders street station catch the Frankston Train from Platform 7 to Frankston.  Once in Frankston catch the 788 Portsea Bus and get off at the corner of Point Nepean Road and Hughes Road Sorrento.  The Dog off leash section of Camerons Bight directly across from the bus stop.

Families travelling by car can park across from the beach in the car park at the end of Hughes Road.  Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the beach - check signs for parking restrictions.

Facilities:

Parking available across from the beach in the car park at the end of Hughes Road and in surrounding residential streets.  Please check signage before leaving your car eapecially in the summer months.

Dog poo bins are located on the grassed areas at the back of the beach - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own.

Walking and bike tracks - these tracks provide access to surrounding reserves, beaches and also to Eastern Sister lookout

Toilets area located just south of the Hughes Road Carpark

BBQ, picnic areas and childrens play equipment are available on the grassed area behind the beach.

Camerons Bight also has a jetty, boat ramp and RACV Caravan Park facilities 

Closest Bus stop to Camerons Bight is located at the corner of Point Nepean Road and Hughes Road, Sorrento.

Extra Information / Beach Sheet Download:

Remember to wash or rinse off your dog after a visit to the beach as they have been swimming in salt water and rolling in the sand which may cause skin irritations.

Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will swallow alot of sea water while swimming and can become dehydated from the increased intake of salt.
