About The Beach: Carrum Beach is an off leash dog beach that has some restrictions during the summer but is a great place to take dogs. Restrictions are in place on Carrum Beach with dogs allowed off leash at all times from April 1 to October 31. From November 1 to March 31 dogs can be off leash from Sunrise to 10am and 7.30pm to sunrise - During these months dogs are not permitted on the beach between 10am and 7.30pm. Carrum Beach is located close to public transport - Carrum Train Station is across the road from the beach. How to get there: Carrum Beach is located in Carrum on Melways Map 97 D9 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders street station catch the Frankston Train from Platform 8 to Carrum. Once in Carrum the dog beach area is located a short 30 meter walk from the station. Families travelling by car can park across from the beach near Carrum Train Station. Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the beach - check signs for parking restrictions. ![]() Facilities: Parking available across from the beach near Carrum Train Station and in surrounding residential streets. Please check signage before leaving your car especially in the summer months. Dog Poo Bins - located at access points to the beach - please take plastic bags as there may not be any available Walking trails - there is are a few walking trails at the back of Carrum Beach and along the foreshore To the south of Carrum Beach there is Toilets, BBQs, a reserve area (on leash) and extra parking Closest Train Station to Carrum Beach is Carrum Train Station Extra Information / Beach Sheet Download: Carrum Beach has quite a few restrictions but is a great beach to visit with your dog Remember to wash or rinse off your dog after a visit to the beach as they have been swimming in salt water and rolling in the sand which may cause skin irritations. Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will swallow a lot of sea water while swimming and can become dehydrated from the increased intake of salt. |
