About The Foreshore:

Rye Pier to White Cliffs Foreshore is an on leash dog area that is located along the foreshore area of Rye Beach.  This Foreshore walk is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions.   Rye Pier to White Cliffs Foreshore walk extends for 1 kilometer parallel with the coastline of Rye Beach.  The foreshore area offers great views of Port Phillip Bay and the coast line in both directions.  Please note that there are stairs on this walk and it is not suitable for the disabled or families with prams.

How to get there:

Rye Pier to White Cliffs Foreshore is located in Rye on Melways Map 168 F3 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car.  From Flinders street station catch the Frankston Train from Platform 8 to Seaford Train Station.  Once in Seaford catch the 780 Bus towards Frankston and get off at the Nepean Hwy and Playne Street stop.  Catch the 788 Bus towards Portsea and get off at Point Nepean Road and Dundas Street.   Rye Pier to White Cliffs Foreshore walk starts across the road from the stop.

Families travelling by car can park near the foreshore area on Point Nepean Road.  Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the foreshore area - check signs for parking restrictions.

Facilities:

Parking available on Point Nepean Road, Dundas Street and in surrounding residential streets.  Please check signage before leaving your car.

Walking Trails - Located along the foreshore area

Toilets - located at various intervals along the foreshore area

Dog Poo Bins - located along the foreshore area near the toilets - no plastic bags are available - please take your own

Boat ramp, trailer parking, BBQs, picnic shelters and play equipment is all located near the Rye Pier.

Closest Bus stop to the Rye Pier to White Cliffs Foreshore is located on the corner of Point Nepean Road and Dundas Street

Rye Pier to White Cliffs Foreshore is a fantastic area that is dog friendly - please ensure that you have your dog on a leash and pick up after them so that everyone can enjoy this foreshore area and it stays on our dog friendly listing.

Please ensure that dogs are kept away from BBQ areas and children's play equipment - this is a requirement in most council areas in Victoria. 

When using on leash dog parks remember that not everyone likes to interact with dogs.  Please ensure that dogs are kept on a leash at all times.

Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will be thirsty after a long walk.
