Council Area: About The Beach: Seaford Beach is an on leash dog beach that has some restrictions during the summer but is a great place to take dogs. Restrictions are in place on Seaford Beach with dogs not permitted on the beach areas from December 1 to April 1 between the times of 9.30am to 7.30pm - All other times of the year dogs must be on a leash. Seaford Beach has great views of Port Phillip Bay and the foreshore area has some great walking trails. How to get there: Seaford Beach is located in Seaford on Melways Map 99 D3 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders street station catch the Frankston Train from Platform 8 to Seaford Train Station. Once in Seaford the dog beach area of Seaford Beach is a short 80 meter walk from the train station. Families travelling by car can park across from the beach near Seaford Train Station. Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the beach - check signs for parking restrictions. ![]() Facilities: Parking available across from the beach off Station Street, near the Train Station and in surrounding residential streets. Please check signage before leaving your car especially in the summer months. Walking trails - there is are a few walking trails at the back of the beach along the foreshore area Dog Poo Bins - located at the back of the beach near the car park area Toilets - located near the car park area at the back of the beach Picnic Shelters - there are two shelters at the back of the beach in the picnic area Public Telephone - across from the beach off the Nepean Hwy Seaford Beach has a lifesaving club and also a pier Closest Train Station to Seaford Beach is Seaford Train Station Extra Information / Beach Sheet Download: Seaford Beach has a few restrictions especially during the summer - please make sure you observe these restrictions when visiting this beach.Remember to wash or rinse off your dog after a visit to the beach as they have been swimming in salt water and rolling in the sand which may cause skin irritations. Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will swallow a lot of sea water while swimming and can become dehydrated from the increased intake of salt. |
