Auburn Council straddles the borders between Deerubbin Land Council to the west and the Metropolitan Land Council, which includes Homebush Bay and Sydney. Within the Auburn council area it is possible to see evidence of Aboriginal settlement in the conservation area of Millennium Park and also colonial history.

Dog Registration Requirements:
Auburn Council requires all dogs over the age of 12 weeks to be registered and microchiped. Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.
Number of Dogs Permitted Per House hold:
Auburn Council does not have a limit to the number of dogs per household on non farming land providing that the dogs are not a nuisance through inadequate containment, noise and bad hygiene.
