Balranald Shire is situated in the South West of New South Wales. Its main business centre Balranald is located on the Murrumbidgee River. the second business centre of Euston is 80km to the west and located on the banks of the Murray River. The population of Balranald Shire is approximately 3000 with about half of those people living in the town of Balranald and approximately 600 people live in the Town of Euston Suburbs within Balranald Shire Council: Balranald, Euston, Kyalite, Hatfield, Penarie, Clare and Oxley
Dog Registration Requirements:
Balranald Shire Council requires all dogs over the age of 12 weeks to be registered and microchiped. Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.
Number of Dogs Permitted Per House hold:
Balranald Shire Council does not have a limit to the number of dogs per household on non farming land providing that the dogs are not a nuisance through inadequate containment, noise and bad hygiene.
