General Information:
Banyule City Council is one of Victoria's smaller council areas
covering just over 60 square kilometers. The Council area is located
to the north east of Melbourne and is made up primarily of residential
suburbs. Banyule City Council is bounded by the Yarra and Plenty
Rivers and is renowned for its great parklands and reserve areas.

Dog Registration Requirements:
Banyule City Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be
registered. Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag
is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids
in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.
Number of Dogs Permitted Per House hold:
Banyule City Council allows a maximum number of 2 dogs per household on non farming land.

Pound Contact Details:
Banyule City Council uses the dog pound facilities
located in Nillumbik Shire as well as a holding pen in Bellfield for
found dogs. The Nillumbik pound is located at 304 Yan Yean Road,
Plenty (Melways Map 11D1).
The opening hours for the Nillumbik Shire Pound are as follows:
Monday - Friday: 8:00 am to 11:00 am
Weekends and Public Holidays: 8:00 am to 11:00 am
The Bellfield holding pen is only open by appointment with the Council Ranger
