General Information:
Baw Baw Shire Council is a predominantly rural municipality which is
located in the south east of Victoria. The Shire is just over 4000
square kilometers and is made up of rich farming, dairying and forestry
areas. Primary industry accounts for nearly 80 percent of employment
in the area and expansion in farming areas such as organics has
benifited this local community.

Dog Registration Requirements:
Baw Baw Shire Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be
registered. Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag
is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids
in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.
Number of Dogs Permitted Per House hold:
Baw Baw Shire Council allows a maximum number of 2 dogs per household on non farming land.
