General Information:
Benalla Rural City Council is one of the newest council areas in
Victoria establised in 2002 after the de-amalgamation of Delatite Shire
Council. The council area covers close to 2400 square kilomters and is
located 180 kilometers north east of Melbourne. The local economy of
this council area is reliant predominatly on retail and wholesale trade
as will as manufacturing.

Dog Registration Requirements:
Benalla Rural City Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be
registered. Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag
is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids
in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.
Number of Dogs Permitted Per House hold:
Benalla Rural City Council allows a maximum number of 2 dogs per household on non farming land.
