General Information:
Boroondara City Council covers an area of just over 60 square
kilometers and is located close to the central business district about
5 kilometers to the east. This council area is primarily made up of
residential areas and contains some excellent park and bush land areas
including Gardiner’s Creek and Yarra Bend Park.

Dog Registration Requirements:
Boroondara City Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be
registered. Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag
is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids
in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.
Number of Dogs Permitted Per House hold:
Boroondara City Council allows a maximum number of 2 dogs per household
on non farming land. Residents can apply for exemptions to this ruling
by submitting an Excess Animal Permit. Lodging a permit requires a
$70.00 fee which is non refundable even if the permit is not sucessful.
