The Cardinia Shire Council area covers just over 1200 square kilometers
and is located south eastern side of the Melbourne Metropolitan area.
This shire contains a large amount of residential area but it also
significant farming and rural areas. This area is repidly growing and
the local economy consists of a small amount of retail, food
manufacturing, agriculture, meat and meat product manufacturing,

Dog Registration Requirements:
Cardinia Shire Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be
registered. Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag
is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids
in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.
Number of Dogs Permitted Per House hold:
Cardinia Shire Council allows a maximum number of 2 dogs per household on non farming land.
