Frankston City Council covers an area just over 130 square kilometers and is located 45 kilometers south of Melbourne.  The council areas which is boarded by Port Phillip Bay on the east side has a high residential land use and is home to important educational insitutes such as Monash University, Chisholm TAFE and the Mornington Peninsula Hospital Campus.

Dog Registration Requirements:
 
Frankston City Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be registered.  Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar.  This tag aids in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.

The opening hours are as follows:
Monday - Friday:  10:00am to 1:00pm and 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
Weekends:  9:00am to 1:00pm.

Animal Release Requirements
  • All dogs and cats over the age of 3 months must be registered with Council prior to release.
  • Owner identification is required at release.
  • Fines will be imposed for unregistered animals and animals at large.
