Loddon Shire Council is a large council area covering just over 6600 square kilometers located 180 kilometers north west of Melbourne.  The Shire is primarly an agriculture area but it has small towns scattered through out providing historic and interesting tourist locations.  The main industry of this area is agriculture, primarily sheep and dairy with some grain and cereal production.

Dog Registration Requirements:
 
Loddon Shire Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be registered.  Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.

Animal Release Requirements:
  • All dogs and cats over the age of 3 months must be registered with Council prior to release.
  • Owner identification is required at release.
  • Fines will be imposed for unregistered animals and animals at large.
