Maribyrnong City Council is a small densely populated council area covering just over 30 square kilometers.  The council area is located 15 kilometers west of melbourne and consists mainly of residential areas.  The Maribyrnong area has a high proportion of enthic residents from over 100 countries.

Dog Registration Requirements:
 
Maribyrnong City Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be registered.  Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.

Animal Release Requirements:
