Moorabool Shire Council covers an area just over 2100 square kilometres and is located 50 kilometres west of Melbourne.  The area is mostly rural with the local economy based around activities such as agriculture, dairy cattle and mining.

Dog Registration Requirements:

 

Moorabool Shire Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be registered.  Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.

Moorabool Shire Council allows a maximum number of 2 dogs per household on non farming land.
