Mornington Peninsula Shire Council covers an area just over 720 square kilometres and is located in Victoria’s south east approximately 40 kilometres from Melbourne.  The area is a mix of rural land, townships and tourist areas and boasts over 180 kilometres of coastline.  This council area is also home to the Cape Schanck and Point Nepean National Parks.

Dog Registration Requirements:
 
Mornington Peninsula Shire Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be registered.  Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.

Animal Release Requirements:
  • All dogs and cats over the age of 3 months must be registered with Council prior to release.
