Moyne Shire Council covers an area just over 5400 square kilometers and is located in Victoria's south west 4.5 hours drive from Melbourne.  The council area is predominatly rural with Warnambool the largest urban center near this shire.  The local economy is based on agriculture mainly sheep and wool production with some grain and dairy activity.

Dog Registration Requirements:
 
Moyne Shire Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be registered.  Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.

Moyne Shire Council allows a maximum number of 2 dogs per household on non farming land.

Animal Release Requirements:
