Murrindindi Shire Council covers an area just over 3800 square kilometers and is located north of Melbourne.  The shire area is mainly rural with just under half of the land classified as crown land.  The local economy of Murrindindi Shire Council is predominatly agriculture but this area also receives a significant amount of tourism to places such as Lake Eildon.

Dog Registration Requirements:

Murrindindi Shire Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be registered.  Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar.  This tag aids in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.

Animal Release Requirements:
