Northern Grampians Shire Council covers an area just over 5700 square kilometers and is located in the north east of Victoria approximatly 240 kilometers from Melbourne.  The area is predominatly rural land with large areas of reserves and bushland.  The main economic activities for this area include agriculture, wine production and toursim.

Dog Registration Requirements:
 
Northern Grampians Shire Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be registered.  Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.
 
Number of Dogs Permitted Per House hold:
 
Northern Grampians Shire Council allows a maximum number of 2 dogs per household on non farming land.

Animal Release Requirements:
