Port Phillip City Council is a small council area covering just over 20 square kilometers and located to the south of Melbourne on the edge of Port Phillip Bay. The area has 10 kilometers of coastline which is home to several all year dog beaches. The area is predominatly urban with the local economy based on business, entertainment, wherehousing and manufacturing.

Dog Registration Requirements:
Port Phillip City Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be registered. Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.

Port Phillip City Council allows a maximum number of 2 dogs per household.
