Surf Coast Shire Council covers an area just over 1500 square
kilometers and is located in Victorias south west 120 kilometers from
Melbourne. This shire area is mainly rural but has strong connections
to Geelong. Toursim is the largest contributor to the local economy
with many people visiting the Great Ocean Road and surfing beaches.

Dog Registration Requirements:
Surf Coast Shire Council requires all dogs over the age of 3 months to be
registered. Once the dog is registered with the council a unique tag
is issued to the owner to be placed on the dogs collar. This tag aids
in the prompt return of dogs that may be found wandering.
Number of Dogs Permitted Per House hold:
Surf Coast Shire Council allows a maximum number of 2 dogs per household on non farming land.
