Mornington Peninsula Shire Council About The Beach: Dava Beach is an off leash dog beach that has some restrictions during the summer but is a great place to take dogs. Restrictions are in place on Dava Beach with dogs allowed leash free between 7pm to 9am during daylight saving and leash free at all other times of the year. Dava Beach has great views of Port Phillip Bay especially from the lookout directly north of the off leash area. How to get there: Dava Beach is located in Mt Martha on Melways Map 145 B6 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders street station catch the Frankston Train from Platform 8 to Seaford. Once in Seaford catch the 780 Bus towards Frankston and get off at the Nepean Hwy and Playne Street Stop. From this stop catch the 781 Bus towards Mt Martha and get off at Bentons Road and the Esplanade. Dava Beach is accessed via a steep stairway. Families travelling by car can park across from the beach on the Esplanade. Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the beach - check signs for parking restrictions.
Facilities: Parking available across from the beach on the Esplanade and in surrounding residential streets. Please check signage before leaving your car especially in the summer months. Walking trails - there is are a few walking trails at the back of Dava Beach which give you access to the lookout Lookout - located to the north of the off leash section of Dava Beach Public Telephone - located across the Esplanade from the stairway access Closest Bus stop to Dava Beach is located on the corner of Bentons Road and the Esplanade Extra Information / Beach Sheet Download: Dava Beach has few facilities please take your rubbish home with you. Remember to wash or rinse off your dog after a visit to the beach as they have been swimming in salt water and rolling in the sand which may cause skin irritations. Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will swallow a lot of sea water while swimming and can become dehydrated from the increased intake of salt.
