About The Reserve:

Emerald Lake Park is an on leash dog exercise area that is located off Emerald Lake Road.  This park is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions.  The park has plenty of walking tracks and views of Lake Treganowan and is accessible by public transport and by car.  This reserve is a great place for dog walking as the area is quite large with many walking tracks.  The Puffing Billy Railway forms the southern boundary of Emerald Lake Park.

How to get there:

Emerald Lake Park is located in Emerald on Melways Map 127 H4 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car.  From Flinders Street Station catch the Belgrave Train from platform 2 to Belgrave Railway Station.  Once at Belgrave Station catch the 695 Gembrook Bus and get off at the corner of Emerald - Monbulk Road and Belgrave - Gembrook Road. Emerald Lake Park is located 70 meter walk east down Emerald Lake Road.

Families travelling by car can park in the reserve car park off Emerald Park Road.  Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the Emerald Lake Park - check signs for parking restrictions.

Facilities:

Parking available in reserve car park off Emerald Lake Road and in surrounding residential streets.  There is a fee payable for the car park - Please check signage before leaving your car.

Dog poo bins are located near the BBQ areas and the car parks - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own.

Toilets are located in the east section of the park near the lake and kiosk facilities

Walking paths - located throughout the park and around the lake

BBQs are located to the west of the park and also near the lake to the east of Emerald Lake park

Children's Play Equipment - located near the BBQ area

Emerald Lake Park has a kiosk located to the south of the lake

There are several historical sites and a model railway located in Emerald Lake Park as well as the Puffing Billy Railway which borders the southern side of the park and stops at the Lakeside Station

Closest Bus stop to Emerald Lake Park is located on the corner of Emerald - Monbulk Road and Belgrave - Gembrook Road.

Emerald Lake Park is busy during the summer months as this is a popular tourist destination and fun run area. 

Please ensure that dogs are kept away from BBQ areas and children's play equipment - this is a requirement in most council areas in Victoria. 

When using on leash dog parks remember that not everyone likes to interact with dogs.  Please ensure that dogs are kept on a leash at all times in these parks and that you remember to pick up after your dog.

Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will be thirsty after a long walk.
