Mornington Peninsula Shire Council About The Beach: Flinders Beach has a off leash dog area between Dodds Creek and Manton Creek. This dog beach is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions. The beach has fantastic views across Western Port and is accessable by public transport and car. This beach is a fantastic beach for dogs as the area for dogs is quite large and their is plenty of room for the dogs to run. How to get there: Flinders Beach is located on Melways Map 262 B7 - D3 and is accessable by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders street station catch the Frankston Train from Platform 7 to Frankston Station. Once in Frankston catch the 782 Bus and get off at the corner of Wood and Gordon Streets in Flinders. The Dog off leash section of Flinders Beach is 400 meters walk down Cove Lane. Families travelling by car can park across from the beach on Spindrift Avenue or in the parking area south of the dog section of beach in Bass Park. Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the beach - check signs for parking restrictions.
Facilities: Parking available across from the beach on Spindrift Avenue or in the parking area south of the dog section of beach in Bass Park and in surrounding residential streets. Please check signage before leaving your car eapecially in the summer months. Dog poo bins are located south of the dog section of Flinders Beach in Bass Park - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own. Walking and bike tracks - these tracks provide access to surrounding reserves and beaches. Toilets area located south of the dog section of Flinders Beach in Bass Park Bass Park to the South of the Dog section of Flinders Beach has the following facilitites: BBQ, picnic areas, childerns play equipment, toilets, jetty, monuments, walking tracks and a lookout. Closest Bus stop to Flinders Beach is located at the corner of Wood and Gordon Street. Extra Information / Beach Sheet Download: The dog section of Flinders Beach is unpartolled - if you are planning on swimming as well as exercising your dog, invite some friends and don't swim alone. Remember to wash or rinse off your dog after a visit to the beach as they have been swimming in salt water and rolling in the sand which may cause skin irritations.Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will swallow alot of sea water while swimming and can become dehydated from the increased intake of salt.
