Mornington Peninsula Shire Council About The Beach: Mills Beach is an on leash dog beach that has fantastic walking trails located in the bushland at the back of the beach. This dog beach is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions. Mills Beach has great views of Port Phillip Bay especially from the lookout at the back of the beach. How to get there: Mills Beach is located on Melways Map 105 F9 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders street station catch the Frankston Train from Platform 8 to Seaford. Once in Seaford catch the 780 Bus towards Frankston and get off at the Nepean Hwy and Playne Street Stop. From this stop catch the 781 Bus towards Mt Martha and get off at the Main Street and Esplanade stop. Mills Beach is a short 500 meter walk from the bus stop. Families travelling by car can park across from the beach in the car park on Bath Street. Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the beach - check signs for parking restrictions.
Facilities: Parking available in the carpark off Bath Street and in surrounding residential streets. Please check signage before leaving your car especially in the summer months. Dog poo bins are located on the grassed areas at the back of the beach - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own. Walking trails - there is approximately 1 kilometer of walking trails through the bushland area at the back of the beach and the trails provide access to the beach from the road. Lookout - located at the back of Mills Beach and is accessible from the walking trails BBQs - located to the south of Mills Beach near the car park area Water ski area - located to the south of the beach Further South of Mills Beach are more facilities such as: Sea Scouts, Boat hire, several lookout areas and public toilets. Closest Bus stop to Mills Beach is located on the corner of Main Street and the Esplanade. Extra Information / Beach Sheet Download: Remember to wash or rinse off your dog after a visit to the beach as they have been swimming in salt water and rolling in the sand which may cause skin irritations.Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will swallow a lot of sea water while swimming and can become dehydrated from the increased intake of salt.
