Mornington Peninsula Shire Council About The Beach: Mothers Beach is an on leash dog beach that has a few restrictions but is a great place to walk the dog. This dog beach is only for use during the colder months of the year as dogs are Prohibited on Mothers Beach during Daylight Saving. Mothers Beach has great views of Port Phillip Bay especially from the lookout at the back of the beach and also the lookout on Schnapper Point. How to get there: Mothers Beach is located on Melways Map 104 D9 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders street station catch the Frankston Train from Platform 8 to Seaford. Once in Seaford catch the 780 Bus towards Frankston and get off at the Nepean Hwy and Playne Street Stop. From this stop catch the 781 Bus towards Mt Martha and get off at the Main Street and Esplanade stop. Mills Beach is a short 500 meter walk from the bus stop. Families travelling by car can park across from the beach in the car park on Schnapper Point Drive. Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the beach - check signs for parking restrictions.
Facilities: Parking available in the car park off Schnapper Point Drive and in surrounding residential streets. Please check signage before leaving your car. Dog poo bins are located on the grassed areas at the back of the beach - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own. Walking trails - through the bushland area at the back of the beach and the trails provide access to the beach from the road and also the lookout on Schnapper Point. Lookout - located at the back of Mothers Beach and on Schnapper Point Drive BBQs - located to the west of Mothers Beach near the car park area Toilets - located near the car park Further around from Mothers Beach are more facilities such as: Play Equipment, Restaurants, boat ramp, Yacht Club and the Mornington Jetty Closest Bus stop to Mothers Beach is located on the corner of Main Street and the Esplanade. Extra Information / Beach Sheet Download: Remember to wash or rinse off your dog after a visit to the beach as they have been swimming in salt water and rolling in the sand which may cause skin irritations.Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will swallow a lot of sea water while swimming and can become dehydrated from the increased intake of salt.
