Parks and Reserves - Mornington Peninsula

When using parks and reserve areas throughout the Mornington Peninsula please remember:

  • Always clean up after your dog.  Many council areas around Melbourne provide dog poo bins and plastic bags for dog owners to do this.  It is always a good idea to still take your own supply of 2 or 3 plastic bags as some areas do not always have plastic bags available all of the time.

  • Check the signs for the off leash areas and obey the council directions when usingthe park. dog_and_ball.jpg Some off leash parks are only available during certain times and days of the week - be sure to follow these restrictions as local councils are quick to fine people who break the rules.  Cheeky Dog is as uptodate as possible, but if you are unsure whether a park is off or on leash contact your council to check.

  • Dogs off leash must still be under effective control at all times.  Most councils do not allow restricted breeds to be exercised off leash in any of these public areas.

  • Dogs off leash must be kept at least 50 meters from childrens play equipment areas and public picnic areas.
