Mornington Peninsula Shire Council About The Beach: Royal Beach is an off leash dog beach that is accessible by walking trails from Schnapper Point Drive. This dog beach is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions. Royal Beach has great views of Port Phillip Bay especially from the two lookout points at Schnapper Point. How to get there: Royal Beach is located on Melways Map 104 C10 and is accessible by both public transport and by private car. From Flinders street station catch the Frankston Train from Platform 8 to Seaford. Once in Seaford catch the 780 Bus towards Frankston and get off at the Nepean Hwy and Playne Street Stop. From this stop catch the 781 Bus towards Mt Martha and get off at the Main Street and Esplanade stop. Royal Beach is a short 400 meter walk south from the bus stop. Families travelling by car can park across from the beach in the car park on Flinders Drive. Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the beach - check signs for parking restrictions.
Facilities: Parking available in the car park off Flinders Drive and in surrounding residential streets. Please check signage before leaving your car especially in the summer months. Dog poo bins are located on the grassed areas at the back of the beach - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own. Walking trails - located throughout the bushland area at the back of the beach and the trails provide access to the beach and also the lookouts on Schnapper point Lookouts - located at the north of Royal Beach and on Schnapper Point BBQs - located to the north of Royal Beach near the car park area Mornington Park directly behind Royal Beach has the following facilities: Skate ramp, play equipment, parking and public toilets. Closest Bus stop to Royal Beach is located on the corner of Main Street and the Esplanade. Extra Information / Beach Sheet Download: Remember to wash or rinse off your dog after a visit to the beach as they have been swimming in salt water and rolling in the sand which may cause skin irritations.Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will swallow a lot of sea water while swimming and can become dehydrated from the increased intake of salt.
