About The Beach:

Safety Beach has a off leash dog area between Tassells Creek and Bruce Road.  This dog beach is for use all year round with no time or day restrictions.  Safety Beach has a volunteer surf life saving club which operates during the summer months to the south of the dog beach area.  This beach is a relativley protected from the weather but is quite busy with boats and people during the summer months.

How to get there:

Safety Beach is located on Melways Map 150 E10 and is accessable by both public transport and by private car.  From Flinders street station catch the Frankston Train from Platform 7 to Frankston.  Once in Frankston catch the 788 Portsea Bus and get off at the corner of Bruce Road and Dromana Roads in Safety Beach.  The Dog off leash section of Safety Beach is 200m walk down Bruce Road from the bus stop.

Families travelling by car can park across from the beach on Marine Drive in the car park.  Parking is also available in the streets surrounding the beach - check signs for parking restrictions.

Facilities:

Parking available along Marine Drive and in surrounding residential streets.  Please check signage before leaving your car eapecially in the summer months.

Dog poo bins are located on the grassed areas at the back of the beach - no plastic bags are available so please remember to take your own.

Walking tracks - these tracks provide access to the beach and also access to Pebble cove to the north 

To the south of the dog section of Safety Beach are more facilities such as:

Safety Beach Sailing Club, Boat Hire, Holiday park, General store and public phone, Coast Guar Headquaters and public toilets.

Mount Martha Public park to the north of Safety Beach is an on leash dog park 

Closest Bus stop to Safety Beach is located at the corner of Bruce Road and Dromana Roads.  

Extra Information / Beach Sheet Download:

Remember to wash or rinse off your dog after a visit to the beach as they have been swimming in salt water and rolling in the sand which may cause skin irritations.

Remember to take plenty of fresh water for your dogs as they will swallow alot of sea water while swimming and can become dehydated from the increased intake of salt.
